President's Column
By Robyn Cummings

Hello Everyone,

It is hard to believe it is already August 2008. It seems time just keeps going faster and faster. I do hope everyone will be sure to take some time to enjoy the rest of the summer with family and friends. Your Board met the last weekend in July. The task set before the Board was to create a game plan for the next year; including continuing on with the accomplishments of Celeste and her Board of increasing and maintaining membership and providing great educational luncheons and events. I believe this meeting was successful as we came up with several ideas which will add to your benefits of being a Chattanooga NAWBO member. For instance, ways to offset the cost of the monthly luncheon, a regular monthly evening gathering for those members who are not able to attend the luncheons, creation of new committees, developing partnerships with National Corporate Sponsors at the local level, as well as bring in new sponsorship. Last, but not least, a commitment from the Board to ensure that our Chapter meets the goals it has set, one of which is to create more fellowship and mentoring for and among its members. The Board, however, cannot accomplish the goals on its own. We need all members to participate in whatever way you can. I encourage each of you to speak up for what it is you would like to receive from this Chapter. We are after all, business women and I know we can meet any goal we set.

This month’s speaker will be the first in many planned luncheons and events that you will benefit from, but only if you participate. Looking forward to seeing each of you at the luncheon. Please feel free to contact me if there is anything you would like to discuss or just need a shoulder.

Sincerely,

Robyn M. Cummings
