President's Column
By Celeste Friend

Hello Ladies,

Our members continue to make their mark on Chattanooga! We have several members nominated for Nautilus Awards again this year. For the Athena Award Beverly Inman-Ebel, Kary Klein, and Peggy Parker are all nominated for this honor. Marj Fleming, our former President has been once again nominated for the Light Keeper Award. I am planning a reception in their honor at my home, 502 Council Fire Drive, on October 10th at 5PM. Please plan to attend.

Another one of our newer members has something to be very proud about. Pauline Field's oldest son, Bryan, at age 15, is the youngest professional programmer in the State of Tennessee. He became a certified java computer programmer when he was 14. He works in the family computer business along with all of his younger siblings. By the way, since Pauline doesn't have enough to do besides running a business and caring for her family of several young children, she home schools all of them, as well.

We have other members on the move, too. Kary Klein is starting SmartWork, HR. It is a benefits company that could, potentially, be very useful to you if your employee benefits or healthcare costs are too expensive. Call Kary or Joy Westfall for details.

And Joy Pickett is opening yet another Podiatry Center. She has clinics located in Glenwood, East Brainerd and now Hixson. Her staff also visits nursing homes to care for their occupants' feet. If you have some news you would like to share with the group, please send it to me so that I can pass it on. Make this month profitable!

Celeste Friend, CFP(r)
